Rea’s a local Wellington rider who splits his time between enduro racing and freeride sessions, because sometimes you need a stopwatch and sometimes you just need a bigger grin. From Miramar to Makara and Maidstone, if there’s dirt worth riding, Rea’s probably already been there.

He’s rolling on a Commencal Meta SX V4, a bike that’s equally happy between the tape and off the side of a jump line. Cyril reckons it’s a solid choice for someone who likes going fast and having fun — ideally on the same run.

Whether it’s race day or just another lap for the love of it, Rea’s approach is simple: ride everywhere, ride often, and keep things interesting. The Republic approves.
